Dauphin County man used dating apps to find sexual assault, robbery victims: police

A 19-year-old man is facing charges after using dating apps to sexually assault and rob people in Dauphin County last month, police said.

Hudson Morris, of Harrisburg, was charged with two counts of robbery and one count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse on Wednesday, according to Lower Paxton Township police.

Police began investigating after they received two separate reports of attempted robberies on Nov. 7.

Two victims reported meeting with Morris after connecting through dating apps “Taimi” and “Grindr,” according to a report from WGAL. Once the victims met with Morris, he attempted to rob them, police said.

One of the victims told police that he set up a meeting with someone named “Brandon,” who was later identified as Morris, after talking on Taimi, according to WGAL. The victim reported that Morris threatened to shoot him if he didn’t give him what he wanted and forced him to do a sex act, WGAL reported.

That same day, Morris met up with another person he met through Grindr.

Court documents say the other victim told police Morris pointed a gun at him and said, “I want your money now,” according to WGAL.

Police said the victim was able to run away and call 911. Morris also sent threatening messages to both victims after the encounters, according to a report from ABC27.

Morris admitted to doing both crimes, police said.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 16 while in Dauphin County Prison on denied bail, according to online court documents.

Anyone with information on both incidents, or any related incidents, are asked to contact Lower Paxton Township Detective Connor Leggore at (717) 657-5656.
