Another entry from the iconic horror game series Resident Evil has arrived on the App Store. Some 26 years after first debuting, Resident Evil 2 has landed on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. *Technically speaking, the title is the remake from 2019, but as a child of the 90s, I love the idea of a game from 1998 coming to modern Apple devices. As part of the launch, Capcom is discounting the title by 75% for a limited time. Capcom announced availability while adding that gamers can try the title before purchasing: Return to Leon and Claire’s horror-fueled journey as they fight to survive a disastrous viral outbreak in Raccoon City. Players can now download Resident Evil 2 on the App Store and try a portion of the gripping story for free before purchasing the full experience. The good news for everyone: Resident Evil 2 is a universal purchase for iPhone, iPad, and Mac; and gameplay progress syncs between devices. The bad news for some: Resident Evil 2 requires iPhone 15 Pro, any iPhone 16, and M-series iPads and Macs. If you can run Apple Intelligence, you can run Resident Evil 2. RE 2 is free to download and includes two in-app purchases: $9.99 to unlock the base game, and $1.99 to unlock all in-game rewards. Capcom says the $9.99 launch price is a 75% discount that will end on January 8, 2025, so snag the game for just $10 if you’re on the fence about buying it. Item to note: While RE 2 is a 723.9 MB download to start on iPhone and iPad, you’ll want a spare 22.11 GB on the Mac to install the game. A year ago, Capcom brought Resident Evil 4 to the App Store. Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard are also already on the App Store. ʟᴀᴛᴇꜱᴛ ᴀᴘᴘʟᴇ ᴀᴄᴄᴇꜱꜱᴏʀʏ ʀᴇᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴅᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱ FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. More.
